Dear
Mr. Zeidman:
We
have been donors to the Holocaust Museum ever since we visited there shortly
after the Memorial Center opened. Now, I learn of the indifference of
the Museum's officials to the virulent Arab anti-Semitism that
threatens the security of Jews around the world in that it does not sponsor any
programs, exhibitions, etc., on this subject. A widespread
attitude among today's intellectual and cultural elite is to treat
Islam with reverence and deference. The HM must rise above this cliché and
show the world where and how Islamic fundamentalism targets the Jews for
hatred and destruction. Its goal should be to help squash this vicious
trend through public awareness and education programs. It's insufficient
to just single out Darfur and elsewhere as regions of genocidal risk. The
Museum must muster the courage to play a key role in exposing the current
wave of Nazi-like propaganda intended by large factions of the
Islamic world to spread hatred and attacks against the Jewish community.
Sincerely,
Stanley Klein
